Biography:

Mary Mashuta is an American quilter and author, born in Berkeley, California, in 1946. She grew up in southern California and has two degrees in Home Economics. Mary has worked in and taught interior design, where she made color and design decisions. She is a professionally trained teacher and has taught in 41 states, Canada, Denmark, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, South Africa, and The Netherlands. Mary has written numerous magazine articles and several books, including 'Foolproof Machine Quilting' and 'Foolproof Walking-Foot Quilting Designs'. She is an ambassador for BERNINA of America. Mary shares a home in Berkeley with her twin sister and fellow quilter, Roberta Horton. Together, they were named the 2014 TQS Legends by The Quilt Show. Mary's work has appeared in national shows including Quilt National and Visions, and she has designed quilts for Kaffe Fassett's yearly book for Rowan Fabrics. Mary's quilts have been published in several books, including 'Kaffe Fassett's Country Garden Quilts'.
