Biography:
The Master of the St Elizabeth Panels is a Dutch painter from the 15th century. He is known for his work on the altarpiece depicting the Saint Elizabeth’s Day Flood, which was created around 1490-1495. The outer panels of the altarpiece depict the disaster, with the breach of the dike on the right and the undamaged town of Dordrecht on the left. The Master of the St Elizabeth Panels is also known for his loose painterly brushwork.
