Mateo Tannatt, also known as Mateo Prunes, is an American artist born in 1979 in Los Angeles, California, United States. He works in various media, often creating sculptures that incorporate live actions or performances. One of his notable works involves dropping a baby grand piano from a height of 80 feet to create an audio 'composition'. He has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, the Hammer Museum, and Marc Foxx Gallery. Tannatt has also been the recipient of several awards, such as the Illy Present Future Prize at Artissima in Turin, Italy.
