Biography:

Maxine Farkas is an American artist. She is known for her work in a variety of media and addressing an eclectic array of topics, with exploration of boundaries being a recurring theme in her art. Humor and satire are also common elements in Farkas's work. She is the creator of the artwork 'I Have No Idea', made in 1998 with cotton as the medium. Farkas has been involved in the art scene in Lowell, Massachusetts, where she has been a leading figure in the Western Avenue Studios and has also curated exhibitions and collaborated with other artists. She has also been recognized by the New England Foundation for the Arts and Studio Art Quilt Associates.
