Biography:

Donald Maxwell (1869-1936) was a British artist known for his watercolors. He was born in London and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. Maxwell was a prolific painter, producing landscapes, cityscapes, and genre scenes. He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and other prestigious venues. Maxwell was also a skilled draughtsman and illustrator, contributing to numerous books and magazines. He was elected to the Royal Watercolour Society in 1904 and served as its president from 1928 to 1932. Maxwell died in London in 1936.
