Biography:

Memas Kalogiratos was born in 1940 in the village of Petrikata in Kefalonia. His parental house was burnt down during the Occupation and so he moved with his family to Patras, Greece. He studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts and graduated in 1966. Kalogiratos has lived and worked in the village below the island's Venetian castle for over 30 years.
