Michael Sailstorfer is a German artist born on January 12, 1979, in Velden, Vils. He currently lives and works in Berlin. Sailstorfer's work primarily focuses on sculpture and installation art, but he also explores painting, performance, and other mediums. His artistic practice draws upon the kinetic, minimalist, and pop traditions of the 1960s and 1970s, re-actualizing these references through his own unique approach. Sailstorfer is represented by Galerie Perrotin in Hong Kong and Paris.
