Biography:
Mikhail Yuryevich Kugach was a Russian painter born in Vyshny Volochyok, Russia in 1912. He studied at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in Leningrad, where he later became a professor. Kugach was known for his landscapes and portraits, often depicting scenes of Russian life. He received numerous awards for his work, including the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1983. Kugach died in 2013.
