Biography:

Miriam Wornum, also known as Miriam Alice Gerstle, was an American artist and designer born in San Francisco in 1898. She moved to England in the early 1920s and settled in London, where she met and married the British architect George Grey Wornum in 1923. Together, they worked on many projects, including the Royal Institute of British Architects' Headquarters at 66 Portland Place in London, for which Miriam Wornum was responsible for much of the interior design. She died in 1989.
