Mohammad Nor Khalid, better known by his pen name Lat, is a Malaysian cartoonist and author. He was born in Kota Bharu, Malaysia in 1951 and is best known for his comic strip 'Kampung Boy', which was later adapted into an animated television series. Lat's work often focuses on Malaysian culture and society, and he has been recognized for his contributions to Malaysian literature and art with several awards, including the Southeast Asia Write Award in 1981 and the National Literary Award in 1993. In 2006, he was awarded the title of 'Datuk' by the Malaysian government for his contributions to Malaysian culture and society.
