Biography:

Born in Igbo Ora, Oyo, Nigeria, Monsur Awotunde is a visual artist and communication practitioner. He had an initial art and design apprenticeship under Shamseen Adagunduro and Olusesan Adebayo in Lagos before pursuing his education in the United Kingdom. His work explores themes of home, travel, desire, and memory, often incorporating abstract expressionist techniques to convey the sociological effects of migration and cultural displacement. Monsur Awotunde's art has been featured in various exhibitions and publications, including a solo show at Reitz Gallery and a profile on Google Arts & Culture.
