Biography:

Moosa Al Halyan is an Emirati surrealist painter from Dubai, United Arab Emirates and a member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society. He was born in 1969 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Moosa Al Halyan started sharing his work and participating in exhibitions in 1984. He chose to draw horses because he believes that when he chooses to draw an animal, rather than the human himself, he can escape issues of discrimination and racism. Moosa Al Halyan has exhibited in numerous exhibitions including Al Banoosh 2nd Exhibition, The 6th GCC Youth Exhibition, The annual exhibitions of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah Biennial, Bangladesh Biennial 2015 The UAE Pavilion, Venice Biennial, Italy. He has received several awards including EWA award in recognizing excellence in Innovation in 2012 and Dubai Government’s Excellence Programme in 2013.
