Biography:
Nancy Roos, also known as Nancy Krotoschin, was an American chess player born in Berlin, Germany in 1905. She emigrated to the United States in 1939 and won the U.S. Women's Chess Championship in 1955. Roos was also a professional photographer and at the time of her death was the second highest rated woman in the U.S. Chess Federation. She died of breast cancer in Los Angeles, California in 1957.
