Niccolo Silva (Armourer)

Biography:

Niccolo Silva was one of the most illustrious maîtres armuriers of the 16th century. Born in Milan, Italy, he was known for his fluency and soigné esthetic in his works. He signed his oeuvres with the letters 'NI' in majuscule. The majority of his works are preserved in museums, with a significant number at the musée de l'armée in Paris. Niccolo Silva was active in the early 16th century, around 1510.
