Biography:

Oliver Sebel is a German artist known for his work as a kulinarischer Zeichner. He has illustrated many articles for the FAZ-Geschmackssache and has been celebrated internationally for his cliché-free portrayal of same-sex couples. One of his most notable works is a same-sex supercouple named Oliver Sabel and Christian Mann from the German soap opera Verbotene Liebe. Sebel's work has also been recognized by the Australian Institute of Sport, which inducted him into its 'Best of the Best' in 2002. In 2014, he was presented with the Philippe Chatrier Award by the International Tennis Federation for his contributions to tennis. Sebel has also been a LZ-Karikaturist for almost 40 years, creating a weekly karikatur for Seite 2 in the Lebensmittelzeitung. He retired in 2024.
