Biography:

Oreste Marini was an Italian painter, founder of the 'Castiglionese scene'. He was born in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Italy in 1909. Marini's works are characterized by a vitalistic and restless style, often featuring portraits with light shades that darken as they approach the subject. He was influenced by Angelo Del Bon's 'Chiarismo' movement and was part of a group of artists who met in Castiglione to discuss and develop their artistic ideas. Marini's paintings are known for their use of color and their two-dimensionality, which recalls the style of the 1930s. He died in 1992.
