Biography:
Otto Djaya was born in Rangkasbitung, Bantung, in 1916. He was an Indonesian artist known for his paintings. He was a member of the revolutionary army and created mythological scenes in a style influenced by Wayang shadow puppetry, and also work depicting daily lives of ordinary people. He delivered the socio-political portion of his painting repertoire under the guise of the Punakawan. He died in Depok, Indonesia, in 2002.
