Biography:
Otto Karas, also known as Otto Kaufman, was a Czech artist born in Prague in 1896 and died in 1944. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and worked as an illustrator and graphic designer. In 1942, he was deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp, where he continued to create art until his death in 1944. His works are a testimony to the life of prisoners in the camp and are part of the collections of several museums and cultural institutions.
