Biography:

Cullen Yates was an American painter born in Bryan, Ohio on January 24, 1866. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York as well as at the Academie Julian in Paris. Yates was known for his landscape and still life paintings, particularly of rivers, coastal scenes, villages, and flowers. He died in Shawnee, Pennsylvania in July 1945.
