Biography:
Pan Shixun (1934) is an important oil painter and art educator in the history of Chinese modern art. He was once the Director of Department of Oil Painting of CAFA. Pan Shixun graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he later became dean of the Oil Painting Department. He participated in the second to the eighth National Art Exhibitions, as well as having been involved in many other exhibitions. In 1982 he took part in "The Chinese Art Show" and the Salon Du Printemps, Paris. Publications include 'Pan Shixun's Tibetan Paintings' and 'The Evolution of European Traditional Painting Techniques in Three Hundred Paintings'. Pan Shixun is known for his realistic oil paintings, particularly those depicting scenes from Tibet.
