Biography:
Paul Arntzenius was a Dutch painter and art collector. He was born in The Hague on May 20, 1883, and died in The Hague on January 4, 1965. Arntzenius was a nephew of Floris Arntzenius, also a painter from The Hague. He was an admirer of the Hague Impressionists and considered himself a late exponent of this movement. Arntzenius exhibited his work at the Onze Kunst van Heden exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in 1939-1940. He is known for his paintings of landscapes and cityscapes, often featuring the Dutch coast and dunes. His work is held in several museums in the Netherlands, including the Rijksmuseum and the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag.
