Biography:
Paul Landowski was a French monument sculptor of Polish descent. He is best known for his work on the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Born in Paris in 1875, Landowski studied at the Académie Jullian and later became a renowned sculptor. His work combines technical skill with creative inspiration, as he believed that impeccable technique was essential to artistic expression. Throughout his career, Landowski created numerous sculptures, including 'The Spring' in 1913. He passed away in 1961.
