Peter Martensen is a Danish painter and graphic artist. He was born on November 26th, 1953 in Odense, Denmark. Martensen studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Odense from 1971 to 1977 and later attended The Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1982 to 1984. His works often depict human figures set against familiar yet surreal spaces, creating a sense of disquieting ambiguity. Martensen's paintings have been exhibited internationally and are held in numerous private and public collections.
