Biography:

Pierre-Alexandre Morlon was a French sculptor and medallist. He was born on June 4, 1878, in Mâcon, France. Morlon studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts under Alexandre Falguière. He began exhibiting his work at the Salon in 1900. Morlon's notable sculptures are preserved in Mâcon, including a bas-relief of 'The Vendanges' and a monument to World War I soldiers. He also designed medals for various occasions, including the 1914-1918 Commemorative war medal (France).
