Pompeo Bertini and Guido Bertini were Italian painters, active in Milan. Pompeo Bertini was born in Milan in 1825 and died in Milan in 1898. Guido Bertini was born in Milan in 1872 and died in Luvinate in 1938. They were father and son. Pompeo Bertini studied at the Brera Academy under Luigi Sabatelli and Giuseppe Bisi, and in 1845 was awarded the Gran premio di pittura dell'Accademia di Brera on the strength of a picture of the meeting between Dante and Fra Ilario. Guido Bertini was also a painter and a poet. He was known for his original and acute verses and his comedies, which were centered on personages and protagonists typical of Milan.
