Ralph Gibson is an American photographer known for his surrealistic black-and-white images. He was born on January 16, 1939, in Hollywood, California. Gibson served as a photographer's mate in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960 and later studied painting and photography at the San Francisco Art Institute. His work often incorporates geometric elements found in everyday life and explores themes of eroticism and mystery. Some of his notable series include 'The Somnambulist,' 'Days at Sea,' and 'Deja Vu.' Gibson has also published several photographic books throughout his career.
