Raymond Simboli was an American artist born on December 26, 1894, in Pescina, Italy. He came to the United States with his parents in 1900. Simboli was a renowned Pittsburgh artist and Carnegie Professor, known for his paintings in oil and watercolor, portraiture, regionalist, abstraction, nautical, and cubist style. His subjects often included Finns and other regionalist themes. Simboli lived and worked in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, as well as Italy. He is known for his genre, landscape, figure, and structure paintings.
