Biography:
Reimond Jozef Pieter Kimpe was born in Delft in 1885, he died in Veere in 1970. Kimpe graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Ghent and began his career as an engineer. From 1918 to 1923 he worked on building projects in Middelburg, a town in the Netherlands. He started painting at the age of 38. Kimpe's works are mainly landscapes and cityscapes, often with a focus on architectural elements. He was a part of the Onze Kunst van Heden exhibition in 1939-1940 at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, where he exhibited four works.
