Dr. Richard O. Cannon III was born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1950. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University in 1972 and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1976. Dr. Cannon is a cardiologist and senior investigator at the National Institutes of Health. He has published numerous research works on cardiovascular disease and has been involved in various clinical trials. Dr. Cannon is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
