Biography:
Roberto Almagno is an Italian artist born in 1954 in Aquino, Italy. He is based in Rome and is known for sculpting exclusively with wood. Almagno trained under sculptors Giuseppe Mazzullo and Pericle Fazzini at the Instituo d’Arte (1968-1971) and the Academy of Fine Art in Rome (1972). His work was included in the 58th edition of the Venice Biennale. He has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including solo shows at the Carlo Bilotti Museum in Rome and the Gallery Rosenfeld in Milan. Almagno's sculptures are characterized by their organic forms and their ability to convey a sense of movement and energy. His work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
