Biography:
Rosa Loy is a German painter and illustrator born in Zwickau, Germany in 1958. She studied horticulture at the Humboldt University of Berlin from 1981 to 1985 before moving to Leipzig to study illustration at the Academy of Visual Arts under Rolf Felix Müller until 1990. In 1993, she pursued a master's degree in painting and illustration under Rolf Münzner. Since then, she has worked independently. Loy is associated with the New Leipzig School movement and is married to Neo Rauch, another prominent artist from this school.
