Sam Taylor-Johnson, also known as Sam Taylor-Wood, is a British film director and artist born on March 4, 1967, in Croydon, England. She is best known for her directorial feature film debut, Nowhere Boy (2009), which is based on the childhood experiences of the Beatles' singer and songwriter John Lennon. Taylor-Johnson is one of the Young British Artists. Her work often explores human emotions and the boundaries between private and public lives.
