Biography:

Sandy Gregg is an American artist born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1969. She began quilting in 1976 while raising a family and working as an administrator at Dartmouth College. In 2002, she became a full-time artist and began creating art quilts for exhibition. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is part of a number of corporate and private collections. She has taken many workshops at various institutions such as Pro Chemical and Dye, Quilting by the Lake, Art Quilt Tahoe, Quilt Surface Design Symposium, The Crow Barn, Vermont Quilt Festival, International Quilt Festival, Lowell Quilt Festival, and other venues. She has also participated in various juried and curated shows such as 'Rhapsody' at Visions Art Museum in San Diego, 'Fiber Fusion' at Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell, MA, Quilt National 2019 in Athens, OH, Members Prize Show at Cambridge Art Association, 'Stepping Inside the Outside' at Highfields Hall in Falmouth, MA and Bristol Art Muesum in Bristol, RI, 'Lost and Found' at Cambridge Art Association, 'Quilt=Art=Quilt' at Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY, 'Contemporary Art Quilts' at The Whistler House Museum in Lowell, MA, 'Little Black Dress' at Brush Gallery in Lowell, MA, 'Turmoil' at SAQA, International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX, and 'Tranquility' at SAQA. She is known for her unique style of using cloth as her medium and creating her own palette by dyeing, painting, bleaching, and altering fabric. She has received various awards for her work, including a jurors award at 'Lost and Found' at Cambridge Art Association in April 2018.
