Biography:
Sedrak Arakelyan was an Armenian artist and a representative of the Realism art movement. He was born in Jauk, Russian Empire (now Armenia), on December 17, 1884, and died in Yerevan on March 6, 1942. Arakelyan graduated from the art class of the Caucasian Society for Encouragement of Fine Arts in Tiflis and studied under Eghishe Tatevosyan and Konstantin Korovin in Moscow. He became an Honored Artist of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1935 and participated in numerous exhibitions. His artworks reflect study landscapes and village life.
