Biography:

Simon Benetton was an Italian sculptor, painter, and poet. He was born on October 24, 1933, in Treviso, Italy. Benetton began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he was inspired by famous artists such as Arturo Martini, Antonio Canova, and Henry Moore. He demonstrated an innate ability to create artworks with perfect proportions and forms already at a very young age. Benetton continued his training independently to focus on individual research and later became a sculpture professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata. He worked together with state schools on the development and planning of programs related to art education. Simon Benetton passed away on October 14, 2016.
