Biography:
Simon Gouverneur was an American artist who was born in 1934. He received his formal art education from the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, Spain. He was also one of the most outspoken opponents of slavery among those who were present at the Constitutional Congress. He represented New York in the United States Senate from 1800 to 1803.
