Biography:

Simon van den Berg was a Dutch painter, printmaker and museum director. He studied for two and a half years in the studio of Pieter Gerardus van Os in The Hague. He became especially known for his landscapes and animal paintings. He was also the museum director of the Mauritshuis in The Hague from 1880 up to his death in 1891.
