Biography:

Isaac Julien is a British installation artist, filmmaker, and Distinguished Professor of the Arts at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He was born in London, England, and graduated from Saint Martin's School of Art in 1985. He is known for his multi-screen film installations and photographic works, and has received numerous awards for his work, including a CBE and a membership in the Royal Academy of Arts. He currently divides his time between London and Santa Cruz, California, where he works with his partner Mark Nash.
