John Whitmore was a British racing driver and pioneer of the executive coaching industry. He was born on October 16, 1937, in Grays, United Kingdom, and passed away on April 28, 2017. Whitmore had a successful career in motorsports, competing primarily in circuit races, touring cars, and grand tourers. He achieved significant success with the Ford Lotus Cortina, becoming the European Touring Car Champion in both 1964 and 1965. In addition to his racing career, John Whitmore was also known for his work in executive coaching and leadership development. He co-founded Performance Consultants and developed the GROW coaching model, which is recognized as a foundational element of business coaching.
