Biography:

Solange Escosteguy is a Brazilian visual artist. She is an autodidact, having started working with various mediums such as objects, sculptures, paintings, and hand-painted clothing since 1964. In the 1960s, she was part of the Nova Objetividade Brasileira movement and attended workshops at the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro. She has also worked in the United States, participating in courses and workshops at Parsons University and the Fashion Design Center. Escosteguy has administered paper mache workshops in various cities around the world, including Santiago, Montevidéu, Brasília, Luanda, Toronto, and Dublin. She has created sets and costumes for dance companies and has organized cultural events, such as the Cine Brasil festival in Dublin. Today, she is represented by the Galeria Portas Vilaseca in Rio de Janeiro.
