Biography:

Sonia Chitrakar is a young Patua of Naya in Pingla, India, who specializes in making patachitra. She started learning the art of Patachitra during her childhood from her mother, renowned Patua Jaba Chitrakar. Sonia has established herself with starring roles in the top-grossing productions Krrish and Don, and later reprised her role in their sequels. She also starred as Alex Parrish in the ABC thriller series Quantico, becoming the first South Asian to headline an American network drama series. In 2015, she founded the production company Purple Pebble Pictures and produced several films under it, including the Marathi films Ventilator (2016) and Paani (2019), and the self-starring Hindi biopic The Sky Is Pink (2019). She has also appeared in Hollywood films, such as Baywatch (2017), Isn't It Romantic (2019), The White Tiger (2021), and The Matrix Resurrections (2021), and starred in the action thriller series Citadel (2023).
