Monster Chetwynd, also known as Spartacus Chetwynd and Marvin Gaye Chetwynd, is a British artist born in London in 1973. She is known for her reworkings of iconic moments from cultural history in improvised performances. In 2012, she was nominated for the Turner Prize. Chetwynd was educated at Bedales School and studied anthropology at University College London (UCL) before training as a painter at UCL's Slade School of Fine Art and the Royal College of Art. She adopted the name Spartacus Chetwynd in 2006 and has since changed her name to Monster Chetwynd in 2018. She is married to the Polish artist Jedrzej Cichosz and they have a son together.
