Biography:
Petr Tatarnikov is a Russian artist born in Leningrad in 1953. He is a member of a well-known St. Petersburg artistic family and currently lives and works in St. Petersburg. Tatarnikov is known for his paintings, which often illustrate the mysterious and incomprehensible aspects of nature, symbolizing the origin and eternity of life. He uses minimalism as a means of transformation and abstraction. Tatarnikov graduated from the secondary art school in 1972 and completed his studies at the Department of Monumental Art of the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. His works are part of the permanent collection of the Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art in St. Petersburg.
