Biography:
Tcheu Siong is an ethnic Hmong artist, born in 1947 in Luang Prabang Province, Laos. She is a Hmoob Dawb (White Hmong) woman, and textiles form an intrinsic part of Hmong ceremonial custom. Tcheu Siong demonstrates a unique approach to her decorative and narrative textiles to create an experimental form of contemporary art. Her work is distinctly different and she says that the characters come from dreams and visions. She works with her husband and describes a spirit world in her artworks.
