Biography:
Terry Michael Brown was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1944 and attended both Presbyterian and Unitarian churches until becoming a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. He was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in 1976 and served as rector of St. Luke’s Church in East Hampton, New York, from 1976 to 1982. He then served as rector of St. John’s Church in Savannah, Georgia, from 1982 to 1988. In 1988, he was elected bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia, a position he held until his retirement in 2012. He is the author of several books, including 'The Gospel of Inclusion: Finding the Heart of Progressive Christianity' (2006) and 'The Church’s Ministry with Young People' (2010).
