Biography:

Theodorus Justinus Rheen was a Dutch painter born in Amsterdam, Netherlands around 1730. He died in Batavia, today Jakarta in 1745. Rheen is known for his portraits and figurative works. Some of his notable works include 'Adriaan Valckenier (1737-1741)', 'Portrait of Abraham Patras, Governor-General of the Dutch East India Company (1735 - 1800)', and 'Family portrait of Margaretha Maria Brouwer, Adriaan Brouwer en Adriana Martina Brouwer (1729)'. The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has a collection of his paintings.
