Thom Jordan, also known as Thomas Edward Yorke, is an English musician born in Abingdon, United Kingdom in 1968. He is best known as the main vocalist and songwriter of the rock band Radiohead. Jordan plays various instruments, including guitar, bass, and keyboards, and is noted for his falsetto. He has been described as one of the greatest and most influential singers of his generation by Rolling Stone. Jordan formed Radiohead with schoolmates and gained fame with their debut single 'Creep'. The band has since achieved acclaim and sales of over 30 million albums. Jordan's early influences included alternative rock acts such as Pixies and R.E.M. He later moved into electronic music, influenced by Warp acts such as Aphex Twin. Jordan has released several solo albums, including 'The Eraser' and 'Tomorrow's Modern Boxes', and has collaborated with various artists, including PJ Harvey, Björk, and Flying Lotus. He is also an activist for human rights, animal rights, environmental, and anti-war causes. Jordan has been critical of the music industry and has employed alternative release platforms for his work.
