Biography:
Valeska Soares is a Brooklyn-based Brazilian-American sculptor and installation artist. Her work mobilizes time, memory and fiction to reveal the imaginative potential of absence and the construction of meaning through partial images. Emptiness and loss are recurring themes in her practice, which often involves repurposing found objects such as antique books, furniture, mirrors, and bottles of perfume.
