Biography:

Marshall Wane, also known as Wayne Marshall, is a British pianist, organist, and conductor born in Oldham, United Kingdom in 1961. He is known for his versatility in classical music and has served as Chief Conductor of WDR Funkhaus Orchestra Cologne from 2014 to 2020. Marshall has also appeared as an organist at the BBC Proms and has given the inaugural organ recital in the new Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles. He has also performed as a conductor with several European orchestras such as the orchestra philharmonique de Rotterdam, orchestre symphonique de la radio de Vienne, orchestre symphonique de la radio suédoise, and orchestre philharmonique royal de Stockholm. In 2007, he became the first chef invité at the Orchestre symphonique Giuseppe-Verdi de Milan and in 2010, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Music. Since September 2014, he has been the Chief Conductor of the WDR Funkhausorchester in Cologne. Marshall is known for his performances of American composers of the 20th century such as Gershwin, Bernstein, Copland, and Ellington.
