He is best known for supplying significant religious panels to Portugal, including the Church of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré. His work, such as 'Christ giving the keys to Saint Peter' (1707), showcases the intricate and ornamental art form of azulejos, a type of painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework that is a major aspect of Portuguese and Spanish architecture.
